CHALLENGES:
Dark, uninviting rustic 1970’s home with few windows and no view of beautiful backyard. Owner wanted to display family heirlooms and open interior to the outdoors.
SOLUTIONS:
Added 1,500 square feet, including a striking second-floor balcony overlooking a wraparound courtyard with raised stone verandas and water features. Expanded rooms at the rear of the house and raised windows to enhance lighting and expose exterior landscaping. Worked closely with a landscape designer to blend interior and exterior materials such as cast stone, limestone, maple and wrought iron.
